Clinical Service Delivery

Delivering research-informed solutions

By improving the efficiency and performance of public hospitals, HSEi is able to create systems-level change.

Innovation

Finding better ways to deliver care

HSEi believes technology can be harnessed to improve health services and increase access to healthcare within underserved and vulnerable populations. For example, HSEi used cutting-edge telecommunications technologies to deliver clinical specialist services in South Africa—improving implementation across the full spectrum of services and settings.

By championing pioneering methods and innvative new solutions, HSEi is systematically improving healthcare practices and policies.

Capacity Building

Providing skills to improve complex health systems

HSEi understands the vital role capacity building plays in strengthening healthcare systems. The lack of capacity in leadership, governance, staff, and service delivery prevents health systems from meeting their full potential.

HSEi’s experienced team implements capacity needs assessments to determine existing gaps while simultaneously identifying audiences with the highest need. Then, HSEi trains healthcare professionals in the best international practices, bringing research-backed tools and solutions to underserved communities.

Providing clinical training and technical assistance to frontline staff

Global Health Dialogues

Fostering a multi-disciplinary, trans-sectoral approach to change

HSEi brings together researchers, policymakers, and implementers to build networks, spark new ideas, and develop impact-driven projects.

In April 2019, HSEi launched its inaugural global health dialogue, titled: “Can Universities Assist in Addressing Public Healthcare Delivery Challenges in South Africa: Lessons from HSEi’s Kwazulu-Natal Oncology Project.” This and subsequent dialogues have served as a platform to discuss key challenges faced by players across the health sector.
